Living in Utah I am grateful for the beauty that surrounds me. Utah, Arizona, Nevada and surrounding states offer some breathtaking landscapes. From the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Cedar Breaks, Arches, Canyonlands, Kanab and Lake Powell the desert southwest has countless photography opportunites. There is a strack contrast from  the  redrock sandstone in Moab to the redrock and Navajo sandstone of the Zion National Park area Utah. The slot canyons are also a whole other world tucked secretly into the desert.   

Utah also boasts the Blackrock desert which features ancient lava flows which also are prevalent in this area even as far south as Zion National Park and Snow Canyon.
